TAYLOR LANGFORD

Taylor bio 1Ask anyone that has known Taylor Langford during his 24 years in Uvalde, Texas, and you would most likely be told of Taylor’s love for music and the satisfaction he gets from entertaining others. Born and raised in Uvalde, TX, vice president of the Uvalde High School graduating class of 2007, Taylor graduated in May 2011 with a Communications degree in Radio Television & Film. While at Texas he worked for the only FCC licensed student produced television station in the nation, Texas Student Television as a Web Director and has also served as Live Sports Director in past semesters. Taylor is doubly blessed with stage presence, people skills and musical ability far beyond his years.

As a three year old, Taylor began singing harmonies to church hymns loudly during services. He quickly learned his love for radio when, at three years old, he took on the job of "official spokesperson" for Regency Chevrolet, cutting monthly radio spots for his father's dealership for the next two years. At the age of six, Taylor received his first “real” guitar. He soon began taking guitar lessons, which lasted only a few months. Ever since, Taylor’s musical talent has been acquired through his ability to play by ear. His musical talent is not limited to the guitar; instead over the past several years he has continued to explore various instruments including the bass guitar, drums, banjo, mandolin, dobro, pedal steel guitar and keyboards. As a child, Taylor’s musical ability was always above that of his peers. His accelerated musical ability most often found him being accompanied by adults. Taylor was always eager and willing to entertain as a child, inspiring many other young people, including his brothers, to develop an interest in music. His stage presence will capture the attention of any crowd and he loves to share his musical talent and does so every opportunity he receives.

Taylor bio 2Over the past several years Taylor has had many great opportunities to perform in Uvalde and the surrounding areas. Although only 24 years old, he has been fortunate to have many chances to work with many people such as Roger Creager, Radney Foster, John Arthur Martinez (runner-up on the Television series Nashville Star), Sonny Throckmorton and Johnny Rodriguez to mention a few.

Taylor has been blessed by some memorable learning opportunities, playing guitar and singing back up vocals for Prentiss Varnon (Nashville Star contestant), Chris Story & Southern Edge, as well as Jim Raby.

Taylor bio 3From time to time he still finds time to work with other local groups playing the drums and/or bass guitar for Joyful Noise Gospel Quartet, Jack & Tess Clarkson, The New Aces Band, The Ken Garrett Band as well as The Memories. Taylor has also played steel guitar and sang backup for Rebel Yell when his schedule permitted.

Taylor has performed at many venues including Uvalde’s Grand Opera House, Herman Son’s Hall, Lonestar Saloon, House Pasture Cattle Company, Leon Springs Dancehall as well as the The Don Strange Ranch (Waring Welfare), Province Hill (Helotes), Apache Hill Ranch and the Marquardt Ranch (Boerne). Lexington (Corpus Christi,TX) in December of 2006. Taylor has performed at numerous weddings (click for references) and private parties all over Texas and always finds a way to satisfy crowds young and old with his wide variety of music!
