The Band

THE TEXAS TNT

When contacted to entertain, in most cases,  Taylor plays guitar and sings the lead vocals. Darrell Zimmerman plays the bass and sings backup vocals along with Taylor O'Neal on the drums. Rex McNiel, on lead guitar, will occasionally lend a hand singing a song or two every now and then.

Darrell Zimmerman

Rhythm Guitar, Bass Guitar, Vocals

Darrell is multi-talented and well known in Uvalde and the surrounding area. He is an unbelievable bass player whose style cannot be compared with anyone else. He can play anything from country to jazz to rock-n-roll. As though that is not good enough, he can grab a guitar and never miss a beat covering all of the same genres. He has been with Taylor longest of any of the band, actually since Taylor was only about 11 years old! He played trumpet in the Showband of the Southwest when he attended the University of Texas. His great attitude and his love for the music makes everyone want to have a good time!

Rex McNiel

Lead Guitar, Vocals

Rex is a player known to the music world as a true professional. His musical accomplishments began in 1969 when he won the KTSA Battle of the Bands. His first passion was rock-n-roll. It was this passion that landed him the lead position for the band “Rain”, with whom he toured the U. S. for three years. Since then Rex has performed with Johnny Bush, Marie Osmond, John Conlee, and Steve Wariner along with many more. He was also a member of the United States Air Force Band of the West and plays with Chris Story. His vocals and fantastic guitar playing fill every gap in the music and make him the perfect lead guitarist and he always has something funny to say to keep us all laughing.
